MAE COYIUTO

Mae Coyiuto is a Chinese Filipino author, born and raised in the Philippines. Her debut YA novel Chloe and the Kaishao Boys was named a 2023 New York Public Library Best Book of the Year. She is also the former editor-in-chief of The Philippine STAR's Young STAR, one of the country's leading youth publications. If she's not writing, she's usually fangirling over Beyoncé, tennis, Gilmore Girls, or all of the above. She currently lives in Manila.

"But Chloe and the Kaishao Boys is not just good because of its relatability, though it definitely plays a part. It’s good because author Coyiuto has such a deep, empathetic understanding of the teenage condition—this is most apparent in her thoughtfully drawn characters, where both teenagers and their parents are given the same degree of complexity."

BOOKS

“A sweet and refreshing story about family, first love, and chasing your dreams. The way Coyiuto writes romance will completely sweep you away.”

Dustin Thao, New York Times bestselling author of You’ve Reached Sam.
